Andrew Wachtal is a distinguished academic leader and advisor, currently spearheading the development of an innovative university in Kazakhstan. With extensive experience in higher education, Andrew has previously served as Rector of Narxoz University in Kazakhstan and President of the American University of Central Asia in Kyrgyzstan. He also contributes his expertise as a board member for universities across Central Asia, shaping the region’s educational landscape.

Before his work in Central Asia, Andrew held prominent positions at Northwestern University, including Dean of the Graduate School and Director of the Roberta Buffett Center for International and Comparative Studies. His academic achievements have earned him recognition as a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
