Ben Hackham brings over 35 years of expertise in finance and technology investment, underpinned by a background in Economics & Economic History and a postgraduate degree in Computer Science. His career took off in the late 1990s as a founding member of UBS’s technology research desk. Ben then managed a multi-asset global emerging markets hedge fund before becoming CIO and Chair of the Investment Committee for one of Brazil’s wealthiest family offices, a position he held for a decade.
Ben later launched a tech-focused long/short hedge fund and now chairs Breezy, a digital marketing startup, as well as serving as founder and CEO of the sporting app, TOP5. He also advises family offices on global asset allocation and led a substantial investment in establishing a medical school in New Mexico, partnering with a local family office and New Mexico State University.
Currently, Ben is the CIO of the Esports Global Fund, a series A venture fund investing in the esports ecosystem. Additionally, he is helping a family develop a mental health platform. His passion lies in using technology and education to foster student engagement and success, reflecting his commitment to impactful, future-focused investments in learning and wellness.
