Dr. Carla Bonina is an author, academic and strategic advisor whose work explores the relationship between digital innovation, artificial intelligence, institutions and sustainable development.
She is Associate Professor at Surrey Business School, co-founder of the Surrey Centre for Digital Economy, and a Fellow of the Surrey Institute for People-Centred AI, where her work focuses on human-centred approaches to AI, data and technology.
Over more than fifteen years, Carla has advised governments, international organisations, start-ups and impact investors on digital innovation, data governance and artificial intelligence, particularly across Latin America.
Her work examines how technological systems shape institutions, economic participation and public life, with a particular interest in ensuring that technological progress remains connected to human and societal outcomes
