Dr Ferrer is a seasoned medical professional with a focus on family medicine, emergency care, and innovative healthcare solutions. He earned his degree in Medicine and General Surgery from the Facultad de Medicina de la Universidade Federal de Pernambuco in Brazil, before moving to Spain where he completed his specialization in Family and Community Medicine at Badalona Serveis Assistencials (BSA) in 2007.
José pursued additional expertise in emergency medicine at the Faculté de Médecine de Créteil – Paris XII and completed a master’s degree in acupuncture from the Universitat Oberta de Barcelona. His practice blends traditional medicine with holistic approaches, such as acupuncture.
Since 2021, he has pioneered the use of Virtual Reality (VR) in healthcare, organizing events to promote its application in medical education. As Project Manager for Clinical and Research Projects at BSA, José oversees VR initiatives addressing burnout, pre-surgical anxiety, and chronic pain management. He also serves as an Instructor of Basic Life Support (BLS) with the Consell Catalá de Ressuscitació.
A multilingual professional, José is proficient in Spanish, English, Portuguese, Catalan, and French, allowing him to work in diverse cultural settings. His work exemplifies the integration of cutting-edge technology and compassionate patient care.
