Shirah leads mental health support initiatives for former child victims of war in Uganda. Her 15-year career spans roles with the United Nations and the Human Rights and Economic Affairs Department at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
Currently a PhD scholar at University College London (UCL), Shirah researches healthcare policies and sustainable designs that enhance mental health. She also holds a Master’s degree in Development, Technology, and Innovation Policy from UCL. A trained lawyer and solicitor-advocate, Shirah has advised charities and nonprofits on governance, charity law, and human rights during her secondment at Bates Wells LLP.
In addition, she co-founded Themis Crown Advocates, a UK law firm specializing in commercial law, governance, and advising social enterprises, B Corps, and impact investors. Shirah’s work is dedicated to creating positive social impact through her combined expertise in law, policy, and humanitarian service, advocating for change at both legal and grassroots levels.
