Children in Dugo Selo Celebrate the Power of Being Real
Dugo Selo, Croatia – 28 June 2025 — On Saturday, Bumblebee Centar hosted a special workshop for children aged 3 to 7, focused on something simple yet profound: what it means to be yourself.
The event, True Me: Dan za Biti Svoj, was created in partnership with Saviesa, an international think tank working at the intersection of education, ethics, and technology. It offered young children a space to express who they are—without pressure, performance, or pretense.
Through storytelling, creative play, art, and movement, children were invited to explore their feelings, express themselves freely, and enjoy being exactly who they are. The tone was joyful, curious, and open.
“Authenticity is not a slogan—it’s a life skill,” said Leonor Diaz Alcantara, Founder and Executive Chairperson of Saviesa. “And the earlier we nurture it, the stronger and more grounded our children become.”
“What I wish for every child is what I had to learn as an adult – that being yourself is more than enough. When we give children that space early on, we’re planting seeds of self-worth that grow with them for life,” said Antica Filipović Grčić, co-founder of Bumblebee Center.
Bumblebee Centar is known for its thoughtful approach to early childhood development. Together with Saviesa, the team designed an experience that balanced imagination with emotional depth. The goal wasn’t to teach children who to be—but to give them the space to discover it for themselves.
True Me also reflected Saviesa’s wider mission: to shape a human future that values integrity as much as intelligence, and emotional truth as much as innovation.
The atmosphere on the day was light, meaningful, and quietly transformative. For many families, it was a moment to pause, reflect, and remember what really matters—especially in a world that often asks us to be everything except ourselves.
